Introduction
Weather Wows is designed to quickly capture meteorology students’ attention in a way that connects upcoming learning material to the real world. The series of immersive mini-narratives are played at the start of each module as a sort of “hook” for the topics: Wildfires, Precipitation, Wind, Lightning, Forecast Data, and Climate. Each scene includes a brief narrative for context, followed by free exploration with five low-stakes interactions, which can be completed in any order. The game was designed to be deployable for Dreamscape Pods and mobile phones, increasing accessibility for students who cannot play in VR.
